ACCEPT – Access for Community & Cultural Education Programs & Training:
Positive Action – The Positive Action program’s objective is to transform individuals, schools, families and communities by teaching and reinforcing positive actions for a lifetime of health, happiness and success. The program promotes well-being in the physical, intellectual, social and emotional areas of the self.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada:
Community Based Mentoring –  The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Program is designed to help participating youth ages 6-18 (“Littles”) reach their potential through supported matches with adult volunteer mentors ages 18 and older (“Bigs”). Research shows that these relationships are able to drive youth to be academically, socially and emotionally ready to pursue higher education and avoid risky behaviors like using drugs, alcohol and violence.

Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows:
Project ALERT – A classroom-based substance use prevention program that teaches kids methods and strategies to resist using drugs.  Through education, the program also helps students adopt new anti-substance use attitudes and beliefs. This curriculum is designed for 7th and 8th graders and has been proven to reduce the experimental and continued use of substances. Project ALERT is grounded in solid science and easy to implement in the classroom.

Children’s Cabinet:
Reconnecting Youth –  Reconnecting Youth is a school-based prevention program for middle school and high school youth who have factors that identify them as at-risk for school dropout, drug involvement, anger/aggression, depression and/or suicidal behavior. The goal is to help youth build coping skills and competencies, increase time spent in healthy activities, and enhance social support resources. The intended outcomes are to increase school achievement, increase drug use control, and decrease suicide risk behaviors.

Quest Counseling and Consulting, Inc.:
Positive Action – Positive Action is an integrated and comprehensive curriculum-based program that is designed to improve academic achievement; school attendance; and problem behaviors such as substance use, violence, suspensions, disruptive behaviors, dropping out, and sexual behavior. It is also designed to improve parent–child bonding, family cohesion, and family conflict.

Quest Counseling and Consulting, Inc.: 
BASICS Education – BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening & Intervention of College Students) is designed to assist students who violate the university standards for possession or consumption of alcohol. The program offers two one-on-one sessions with a trained alcohol counselor/educator. In these sessions, students receive information and develop skills to assist them in making choices related to the use of alcohol that support safety and student success.

Washoe County School District:
PATHS –  Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies Program (PATHS) is designed to enhance areas of social-emotional development such as self-control, self-esteem, emotional awareness, social skills, friendships, and interpersonal problem-solving skills, while reducing aggression and other behavior problems as well as substance abuse. The program places primary importance on the developmental integration of affect, behavior, and cognitive understanding as they relate to social and emotional competence.

Washoe County School District Family Resource Center:
Parenting Wisely – Parenting Wisely is a family skills training program that has been found to reduce family conflict and combat the risk factors associated with substance use and abuse. Parenting Wisely works to improve social competencies and school performance. Child maltreatment also decreases as parents build confidence, strengthen bonds with their children and learn more effective parenting skills.
